November 2021 Real Estate News in Cairns
1. The hottest zone in a sizzling Far North property market is in the postcode of 4879, with eight of 13 homes to break the $1m in the last quarter on the northern beaches. Recent data reveals homes sold from July 1 to September 30 shows the real estate boom has displayed no sign of abating and Palm Cove and Trinity Park are particularly sought after by southerners seeking refuge from Covid lockdowns. If you’ve been on the fence about selling your property – NOW is the time to do so!
2. Seven years from when it was announced, the seven-tower $550m Nova City development is no longer going ahead. Developer World Class Global (WCG) has written to pre-sales Buyers saying it will now not be built, mainly due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. There is a possibility that property may soon be for sale, at a price significantly lower than what WGC originally paid for it.
3. The old Bunnings site on Spence Street has big plans locked in place for multi-million dollar developments. The existing building will be transformed into a film studio by Screen Queensland, and the existing car park area will have a high adrenaline company building constructed on it featuring indoor rock climbing, trampolines, and Ninja Warrior style obstacle courses! How amazing does that sound?
4. Our tropical north climate is soon due for cyclone season, or wet season as locals call it. It begins around mid-November depending on mother nature’s feelings at the time. Make sure you’re prepared for any potential disasters. A great checklist is available at the Council website.
